alone again, naturally ...

leo fishing ... in healthier, younger days

leo doesn't have a family doctor ... again!

we went for his appointment today ... and the doctor that we found in january (of this year), is definitely leaving ... he shook our hands warmly ... and said to leo to take care of himself ... i could see that he felt sympathy for leo - yet ... ? ...

another doctor search begins ... or a "doctor wait" ...

there were 4 doctors at the clinic - here in our town ... but 2 doctors left this month and the 2 remaining docs are so overwhelmed with patients that there is no hope of being added to their practise ...

*sigh*

it is most difficult to keep doctors in rural areas - the cities do provide better income and more varied patient loads ...

however, it is hugely discouraging for us ... in fact, i must admit to having a good cry on leo's shoulder ... i told the Lord that i am getting so weary ...

*sigh*

i count my blessings, yet my heart still grows tired ... being cheerful and optimistic is sometimes a hard thing to do ...

just sharing ... so you can pray better for us when we come to mind ...

"Those who are well do not need a physician, but those who are sick." Luke 5:31

UPDATE: yesterday, i got very humanly sad - it just enveloped me like a dark shroud! i feel more optimistic this morning, and i do believe the prayers of friends have helped! thank you! ... it's my busy tuesday at the library today - there is a light dusting of snow outside ... it looks lovely ... blessings on you, dear blog buds for encouraging & praying ... thank you! you've lifted my spirits - again!

I'm so sorry Saija - a Dr is such an important person in our lives, but even more so in Leo's life. I'll be praying for the right one to be put in place. I know God has someone picked out for you!

I'll be praying too that the Lord provides just the right Dr. for your Leo. That would be very discouraging, to not have a Dr. We don't have that problem here but a mega medical system is buying out every single hospital around us. Kind of scary! btw, I haven't made one single cookie yet...no time! Your fudge sounds sooooo good. enjoy a piece for me please =)

As a miltary retiree's wife...we rely on miltary care that we were TOLD would be free as long as he did his 20 years..he did 23....and now we do pay..a partial amount..and every 3 years the doctors change..well I was recently at that 3 year point....Praise the Lord this new doc(she is a PA) really seems to care about fibromyalgia....
So in saying all this...yes...it will be a priviledge to take this to the throne on your behalf.

Aw, Sweetie, I am so sorry the doctor is leaving. We just trust the Lord to show you another good doctor. I know it is discouraging. Lord, take good care of Saija and Leo, in Jesus name.
Blessings ~

Hi Saija and Leo

Same old story down here. Hard to attract and retain Drs in rural areas, this problem also exists in some metropolitan areas too. It seems that those people and areas that could benefit most from permanent or long term Drs miss out.

If theres is a ratio of one Doctor to 1500 patients this is considered acceptable any better is phenomenal.

I wish you luck in your search. At the moment my Drs are keen to hang on to me because all the things that have gone wrong make me a unique case. That being said I'd rather be a 'normal' case than a 'unique' case

mari ... i believe that too, i just got very humanly sad yesterday - it just enveloped me like a dark shroud! i feel more optimistic this morning, and i do believe the prayers of friends have helped! thank you ...

maggie ann ... thank you for your prayer ... and i froze the fudge, so that i wouldn't nibble on it until closer to christmas - i know my own sweet tooth well!

Deby ... i'm so glad the Lord met your need for a compassionate doctor - i know He's at work on our behalf ... i just need to be more patient & rely on my faith! and the prayers of my family in the Lord - thank you!

jj ... absolutely God is in control - i just had a weepy, emotional moment - good to remind myself, and leo, that i'm really just an itty bitty woman ... thank you for the encouragement & your prayer! ((hugs))

cathy ... thank you for praying, i know it's praying friends that allowed me to sleep more peacefully and wake up more optimistic! :o)

gavin ... i'm glad you've got good docs around! i hope they help you out LOTS!! ... when leo had his first surgery, he had two orthopedic surgeons working on him (unheard of back then) because he was "interesting" too ... and we hated to hear that word as well ... ... at this point in his health, we just need some compassion & someone who is up-to-date with what may be new out there ... blessings on you!

Human sadness is totally ok, God is counting your tears and keeping them all in a bottle. One day we will know why we have these trials

Praying for a good Dr.

antibk ... i'll even take a delayed answer! :o) ... as long as we get a doc that stays for awhile ... we are ok pill wise, until spring - but if leo gets another fever that requires hospitalization, well? but i won't worry about what may not happen, right? blessings on ya!

Susan ... thank you ... i feel better about it all today - just pryaing that there is a good doc on the way!

nancy ... all the problems surrounding me, got to me yesterday - i was discouraged ... but a good cry & then a good sleep seemed to help ... thank you for the encouragement ...

Saija, I'm sorry to hear this, and praying for a new, good, long-term doctor for Leo!

Regarding the comments about being an "interesting" case, I can relate! My eye doctor diagnosed me with something called pigment dispersion syndrome a few years back, and he called a group of medical students into the exam room and made each of them look at my eyes. They all said something like, "Wow, I've never seen anything like *that* before!" That was disconcerting, to say the least! I had a similar experience right before finally being diagnosed with RA -- the strangest things were happening to my joints, and both my GP and my orthopedic surgeon said things like, "That's so weird. I've never seen this before. I can't explain it."

i know, that is one time that a person doesn't want to be unique!!! when there is a medical issue ... leo wasn't thrilled about it either ... :o( ...

and poor you ... sheesh!

thank you for the prayer on our behalf!

Saija,
I missed your post on the 19th as I left early on the 20th to go visit My Oldest Daughter and her family for Thanksgiving... I do so hope that you are having better luck finding a Doctor...
I prayed for you while I was gone... but I did not know the specifics that you needed...

I will certainly zero in on the fact that you need that special Doctor to cross your path so Leo can once again have secure medical attention...
Blessings to you and Leo...

I can only imagine how difficult and what a hardship this must be. I will remember you both in my prayers. May God open doors soon!
