littlest hobo

back in the 70's, there was a canadian tv show called the littlest hobo ... it was about a dog who wanders about, helping folks just when they need it ... here in our town we have our own littlest hobo ... he doesn't belong to anyone ... he follows his own independent path ...

i see him doing his route, every morning around 8ish ... i think he has his "breakfast" at regular spots ... everyone knows him ... he gets plenty of treats ...

he's in pretty good health for an aging, mature canine ... he doesn't worry about the day to day ... God takes care of him ...

his purposeful strides encourage me in the mornings ... though others may think "poor thing, he has no home!" ... he doesn't seem worried or filled with care ... he's one of my morning smile makers ... i took these pics the other day to share with you ...

Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day.

God takes care of his own!! It would be nice not to be thinking about where you were going to eat next or just what was going to happen next!! This cute dog is definitely being taken care of by God. i would worry about him though..since i really love animals so much!!
i love your quote...very nice.
You have lots of snow..wow..

we could all take a lesson from your littlest Hobo... He knows that God directs him to the humans that feed and provide what he needs at the correct time that he needs it...

great pictures and life lesson

The part that gets me about your "little town" is how scenic it is--even has its own little hobo! We're dealing with another firestorm and at this moment our nephew is awaiting news of his home the info he has fromt he City of Malibu's web site is that his whole street burned down yesterday and so we're on hold. But what a contrast in nature--! Where you live is gorgeous! God bless!

OOOhhhh, poor thing, he has no home!!! Sorry, but I'm one of those people. :) I'm a sappy animal lover.
Since I have dogs and I know how much they love to be stroked, talked to, and loved it makes me sad for the "little hobo". I'm glad that he's healthy and there are people who make sure he has food though.

Sandy ... and it's snowing MORE Today ... in fact the little sweeper thingy was out doing the sidewalks this a.m.!! and i've swpet our steps - and they need sweeping once more! ... re, the littlest hobo - he won't let anyone adopt him, he is definitely independent by choice! i guess there are dogs like that ... ?

mimi ... i was thinking that too - that God takes care of all His creatures ... :o) ... efven in the snow & cold, the littlest hobo does have his shelter ...

mari ... glad it made you smile too!

antibk ... i hope your nephew's house is ok ... that is the saddest thing about those fires! and many of them seem to be set by careless people ... and the rest suffer ... sheesh eh?!!! ... and yes, our little town does have natural beauty along the waterways ... we enjoy it here ... :o)

rita ... many have tried to coax this guy to be their dog - stay at their place, etc .... but he won't ... he has his own little shelter, where he goes, and shies away from well-meaning people who want to make him a pet ... so he belongs to the town ... i guess there are those kinds of dogs too ... he is indeed a healthy guy ... :o)

Praise the Lord! Just heard that the house is standing, both houses on either side and one behind burned to the ground. It jumped their home...they are expecting a special little baby in two weeks...for an anxious 36 hours they wondered if they'd have a house to bring the baby "home" to.

He's beautiful! I hope he has a warm place to sleep at night. I know feral animals can be very resourceful.

antibk ... i'm so glad that things turned out well for him ... with every sad story, this is a happy one next to it ... just like life, eh? and we all take turns with the happy/sad/happy ... hope you have a great week!

catherine ... i agree - he's quite resourceful and even knows how to navigate around people, so that they don't get too friendly or close ... he remains aloof as he travels the streets of our town!

maggie ann ... you stay cozy too! i see you have been a busy knitter kat this past while! :o)

Well, I am one of those dog lovers. I guess the little thing has been lost or mistreated and is just afraid of people. I'm glad he has people around who care for him and hopefully feed him. He does look healthy. And I liked your post. :o)

cathy ... there are many dog lovers here too - who would love to give him a home ... but he keeps to his routine and to his own devices ... blessings on your week!!!

"Travelin' around from town to town,
Sometimes I think I'll settle down,..." I can't remember the rest of the theme song. LOL. Maybe that was a Canadian show? It was one of my little sister's favourite shows. She grew up loving dogs and has always had at least one, I think. Several years ago, she started Summit Assistance Dogs in Washington state. Can you tell that I'm very proud of her?
