last year's tree
this was last year's card tree at our place ... the lights are red and green around it and it really looked cozier in real life, honest! ... *smile* ...
this afternoon i taped up our first batch of Christmas greetings inside the 2005 card tree ... even though there are only about 10 cards on it, it is already looking friendly & filled with love from the snail mail we've received ...
we don't have a regular tree ... we started this little tradition and it has become our "real tree" ... a time to remember family and friends ... to pray for them and share stories from Christmas past ...
what kind of traditions have you created for your Christmas time?

we had a picture tree last year. remembering and recalling christmases past. it was nice. this year we will probably have a more traditional tree--even if it is artificial.
We use the old fashioned way to display our Christmas cards. We hang them off our venetian blinds. :)
We have a medium sized Christmas tree which Pauline and the kids decorate each year.
Both Emily and James also wanted their own trees so they have small trees in their rooms.
Sweetie has a ceramic village that lights up and a glass lake and skaters and a manger. I will see if I can get a picture of it and blog it. Merry Christmas!
Wow...want a neat idea! I would never have thought of something like that.
tina ... a picture tree is really unique ... i've never seen one ... too bad you don't digi cam on your site, i would love a look see! :o)
rodney ... *laughing* ... i would never have thought of hanging cards from the blinds! good thought! *chuckle* ... and that is nice that the kids have their own little trees too - kind of adds a little Christmasy touch to their rooms!
april ... i think that is sweet to have a cake for Jesus ... :o) ... and we used to drive around looking at the lights too ... that was always fun!
osray ... ya, take a pic and post - i would love to see your Sweetie's ceramic village ... i've always thought they were so pretty!
shelley ... it's fun to pass on ideas, don't you think? we came up with that one in Arizona (we spent a few Christmas' there), and have just carried it home to the snow country!
What a great tree! Our tradition really isn't anything unique, but we have the kids invite one or two of their friends over to decorate the tree with Christmas music and lots of cookies. Usually, there's 10 kids and us - it's a great time.
fred ... that sounds like fun! and who knows, maybe you are helping out some poor little kid that doesn't have as happy a home life ... blessings to you!
I love this idea Saija
i love it too ... saves on getting a tree! and i see friends all around me that way ... :o)
