Lest we forget ...

i have lived over a half a century ... war has swirled around me, in other countries ... and vets have shared their stories with me, most likely sparing me from the more gruesome ones ... i have been fortunate to live all these years in a peaceful land ...

that is one blessing i NEVER want to take for granted ...

lest we forget ...

Ya, we were talking last night about how maybe we should move to a peace loving country like Costa Rica or Canada.
We're both tired of being by citizenship a part of so much war.
We hate to think what our son will grow up with. We're already struggling with how do we teach him that yes, we live here, but we don't have to live like everyone else. We don't have to love the wars our leaders seem to love.

ack. Ok now I'm depressed!

cptnwow ... i guess your whole world view shifted somewhat when you had sam ... without Christ, it certainly would be a 24/7 depressing type of world!

Freedom is never free, never has been, never will be--that NR picture is so WONDERFUL, it reminds me of the price of freedom. I too won't take freedom for granted--and especially the freedom I have in Christ Jesus--so as a good soldier, I press on...

antibck ... yes, our freedom in Christ was paid with His blood ... though salvation is a free gift, it came with the cost of Jesus life ... blessings on you!

catherine ... freedom is so dear, isn't it? especially when we look at other governments where intolerance leads to murder of whole groups of people ... i don't ever want to take my life for granted!
