no sunshine ....

i took this pic today as i made my way to the city & some shopping ... i did tweak it a little before putting the little note on it (the note is from an RBC daily bread booklet - they didn't credit the quote to anyone) ... the picture captured the gloomy weather we've had in the prairies lately ... apparently we've only had 6 hours of sunshine this October - YIKES! we're known as sunny manitoba - but not this month! ...

the quote i used adds a positive touch to the gloom of the pic ...

i did have another of those driving/shopping trips i like to take ... solo ... and tho' i didn't buy much, it was fun ... i'm good company (said with tongue in cheek!!) ... *grin* ...

my library job starts this tuesday - so i've had plenty of time to do home stuff and be with leo ...

blessings on your weekend! i'm just hoping for some sunshine!

Solo shopping trips can be lots of fun. Do you ever find that you need to work on your conversation skills -- those lulls between topics can be disconcerting sometimes? :P

I am excited for you on your first day at the library on Tuesday...have a wonderful first day and be sure to post and tell us all about it...
I love even the smell of books.....
and the books in the libraries always have that nice comfortable used feel to them..
I am praying for your first day to be comfortable and relaxed for you....

Goodness, dear, ya'll do need some sunshine! Well, you have the son shining inside anyway. I do hope you have a wonderful, enjoyable, first day at work. I'm sure Leo will miss you again, but he has little kitty to keep him company. :o)

You're right, it does look gloomy there. Those are the kind of days I REALLY, REALLY like to stay home and "cocoon" myself. :)
I haven't been here for a few days... How is Leo...and how is Maria doing? And how is Squeaks doing? Has he settled in?
Praying for you to have an easy transition into your new job. Hugs...

Yikes!!! Only 6 hours of sunshine. That would be very depressing!! We are still having weather in the 80's!!! Glad you enjoyed your day.

Hi Saija...we've had gloomy weather in the mornings too, but then the sun comes out. I am looking forward to hearing about your library work...for some reason your job reminds me of how Belle loved to read in Beauty & the Beast. After all, the beast gave her his 'whole' library, it must have made a huge impression on me. We recently saw a theatre production of that. At first their sound system was turned up so loudly I thought my ears would burst...poor Belle! her lovely singing was fuzzy...till they backed it off. I remember asking my husband if he wanted to leave at intermission and he said no! he was enjoying the musical. Surprise me why don't cha? grin. Hope your week-end is restful and pleasant!

jeanette ... haha ... what lulls? :o)

mimi ... thank you for that prayer! and ditto re the library smell & feel of the books - i love them too!

cathy ... someone must have prayed for sunshine, cause we had a lovely day here! i was outside for hours and hours! :o) ... and yes, leo & squeaks will probably miss me puttering around, disturbing their sleep????? but it is so close that i can even come home for a coffee break (2 minute walk!)

rita ... leo & maria are both doing better ... leo is much healthier than maria - she really needs our prayers for comfort ... and little squeaks is a pesky, cute kitten that gets into everything and thinks that by purring he can make it all right! blessings on you!

susan ... 80's??? wow! i am thrilled if we can get to 60, 'cause 50s are the norm for this time of year ... us northern folk are starting to get ready for 40 below weather!!! brrrrrrrrr ...

maggie ann ... my weekend has been lovely so far, thank you! wishing the same for you!!!! ... ooohhhh, i would have loved to have seen that beauty & the beast presentation ... sounds lovely!
