foster parents

this little pic made me think of squeaks ... as i've already shared with some of you, it turns out that we were only squeaks foster parents ... 3 weeks ago he went to live on a farm, with another cat and a lady our age ... she will have grandkids over for him to play with ... and he has 3 floors to call his own, as well as the great outdoors ...

he was a loveable charactor who was ruling the roost here at our condo - which was too small for his active antics ... i think we were just there to rescue him from where he was at and save him for where he is now ...

sometimes that's the way of life ... nothing is permanent, yet if there is something positive that comes out of it ... it's a blessing ...

I'm sorry that Squeaks is no longer with you. I liked to think of him entertaining Leo, but I'm glad he has lots of room to play now. I'm also happy you were able to rescue him umtil this home came along!

Oh I am sorry to hear this!!I thought that he would be a permanent pet at your home!! You know what we had to do last week with Simon. i had been putting up with him for a long time and just could not deal anymore. We still have Annie and she is very sweet and loveable..no biting or wetting all over the place!! Sandy

Aw, Saija, you mean someone else claimed him? Well, he was a pretty wild little fellow anyway. I hope you and Leo won't miss him too much. Blessings~

squeaks moved out??? :( i think you need a warm, big, fluffy, calm bernese mountaindog there with you ;)

but -29 degrees????????????????
yuck! here it's been above zero for days now - almost a week i think. no snow left, just wet darkness :P but it should be getting colder by the end of the week. maybe.

Sandy ... i thought we would have him for much longer than a mere 3 months ... but things just started out all wrong for poor squeaks - with leo going to the hospital the very night we got him - he certainly gave laughter & joy (along with exasperation & constant cleaning!) ...

cathy ... he was definitely wild! leo had so many bites on his hand from squeaks *play* that i am amazed that he misses the little guy so much!

eija ... *laughing* um, if an itty bitty cat was a bit too much for our place - i think a mountaindog would totally pull the condo off it's moorings! ... hope you guys get snow soon!

Well, I did not realize that Squeaks was only a foster child... but short term is better than no term...
glad you had him to lighten your lives for a short while... and give Leo a little play fellow...
however, if he was that frisky then the outdoors of a farm are better for a permanent home than a quiet condo with only two boring playmates...
but I don't think you are so boring
smiles :0)

We have been foster parents before to more than one pet...sometimes there is just a better FIT for them......now...my chloe(small dog)....I pray the Lord gives her a long life with us...haha...
she sits by me as I blog...in my recliner, on my laptop....ahhh almost decadent.

Oh I could never be a foster parent.
That is way too sad that you don't have Squeaks anymore!
And just before Christmas.
It was hard enough when Fearless Feline left!
I think that your little home will have one big empty space now Saija.
I hope the kids are good to the kitty....Love Terry

Awwwww, I'm glad you found Squeaks such a good home, but I'm sorry you couldn't keep him! It sounds like the farm will be a wonderful place for him. You did good. :)

as of today - 20th - leo still misses squeaks ... and both of us think we have seen our fearless feline in the hallway and by leo's chair! funny how we get when we have been used to the presence of a cat for years and years ... but? well we are empty nesters now ...

Aw Saija...I think you need another kitty.
Maybe that Jammie will lend you her big black cat, eh?....Love Terry

PS..I would dearly love to send you out Bernie's cat Shopping News...He is one bad kitty and spoiled rotten.
Maybe the cold prairie air would smarten him up!
