telephones and holidays

what a wonderful invention the telephone has been ... well, most of the time anyway! *grin*

over the holidays, we stayed at home ... we didn't even venture out to my aunt's on Christmas eve because leo was having a fever/nausea thing happening - poor guy! so we enjoyed our cozy condo (God's Christmas present of last year! the gift that we continue to love!) ... but we didn't feel out of the loop at all ... there were many phone visits to enjoy ... in fact, i was starting to get "phone ear" ... and i'm sure leo got a krik in his neck from his chatting with folks too ... but it was super to listen to the voices of family and friends - sharing Christmas greetings with them ...

of the many many things that we take for granted in our high tec world, the simple telephone is one that has helped many a shut-in keep communication lines open ...

Sounds like you had just the Christmas you were susposed to have. Hope Leo is feeling better. Yes, the phone is one great thing I'm thankful for as well, even cell phones, what did we do without them??? Have a wonderful New Year!!!

I must admit that isn't something I thought about, but I'm sure glad we have some of these new techonological things. I can see that they would be very helpful to someone who is shut in.
PS - I appreciate coming here and finding your positive comments in spite of the issues you deal with. I know you have your down times, but you usually put a positive spin on things and keep on trusting God!

Now isn't that the truth. And probably the computer too. I do hope Leo is feeling better. I'm glad you two had a great Christmas in your cozy home.

your Christmas sounds so much like mine... and the phone is one of the best inventions ever made... we were able to talk to our children and grand children... while still enjoying the peace and quiet of "home"
Have a Happy New Year!!
Blessing on you and Leo,
Mimi

nancy ... cell phones are super as well - when i am out and about in the car, i'm "connected" to leo through that ... :o) ... leo is feeling much better ... thanks and happy new year to you too!

mari ... i think the joy of the Lord is definitely a persons STRENGTH - so i try to find joy in situations ... which is self serving? maybe!! blessings on ya!

cathy ... yes, we are definitely living in a time that keeps us all connected! :o) ...

mimi ... quiet is nice, isn't it? :o) ... especially when a person is not feeling the best ... and i do have my diversions, so i don't mind ... Lord bless ya!

Sandy ... looking back in time, i see His footsteps beside mine - even though the future is such an unknown ...

pat ... they were a humming ok! wishing you all the best in 2008 as well!

Yes our phone was "ringing off the hook" all day Christmas. We were blessed by all the phone calls.

I have a bit of a phone phobia, myself. I hate talking on the phone. I'm not sure why -- as a teenager, I was on the phone all the time with my friends. I think I get uncomfortable when I can't see the other person -- their facial expressions, body language, etc. Email has been a godsend for me. :)

I hope Leo is feeling much better by now!
