Cold enough for you?

-48C Posted by Hello

i have 3 pictures of Leo on my blog . . . and now i have 3 pictures of our thermometer! as you can see, this one is the grand daddy temp of them all . . . -48C . . . which is around 56 below on the Farenheit scale ... we only live a 2 hour drive from the US border, so it's not like we are in northern Canada ... YIKES!!!

not only was the woodstove eating up pieces of log like candy, our baseboard heaters were humming away as well!! the fan that heats the crawl space under our cottage was starting to make loud groaning noises too!!! i chuckle and shake my head as i type this . . . it is so unbelievably cold at the moment .... there is hope for a warm up come tuesday .... there is always hope!!

our blessings are a warm house, wood heat, and no need to go anywhere ... there are always blessings to be found in every situation .... you just need to look!!! Amen? Amen!

Is that thing broken? I think it may have frozen the needle.

Stay warm.

Deb: thanx for stopping by . . . i see your comments on Michael's blog all the time . . . :o) . . . and yes, i think it should be against the law!!! but then i wouldn't have anything to blog about on the slow days ... chuckle!

Michael: i was just saying to leo "what happens if it hits 50? does it fall apart?". . . incredible cold, eh! and i had to post the thermometer pic . . . i don't think anyone would have believed me otherwise!!! by the way, thanx for the nice comment on your blog - :o)

I'd post a picture of my thermometer but I think it might make your thermometer jealous of the 75 degrees that my thermometer felt today. So I will spare your thermometer the broken heart. :)

Our temperature has been just a whisker under 40 degrees celsius today.

Once I finish work I'll cycle straight home and jump into our backyard pool.

Jeanette and Rodney . . . ya ya ya . . . 75 Farenheit and 40C . . . talk of swimming pools and thermometer envy . . . sheesh, guys!!! just share some of your warmth, ok???? * smile * . . .

Leo said that it was -49C when he threw logs in the fire at 5:00 a.m. this morning ... and i thought - no way am i posting another thermometer pic unless it just falls off the deck with the wires poking out of it because of the cold . . .

now if you'll excuse me - i must go get a WARM cup of java to start my day with ...

you guys did make me smile - thanx ... saija, the frozen canuck!

I can't even comprehend that much cold! BRRRRRRRR! It makes me think of how comfortable you are going to be in the middle of August while we are melting like a popcicle at 95 and 100% humidity! I hope you have plenty of wood! Stay nice and toasty, girl.

Hey Saija

Wake up and check the needle.
Has it moved yet?

Take Care
Michael

Peg: yes we have lots of wood (and if we don't, Michael has some he is willing to share!) ... it's good that i love my indoor world too - as long as leo has milk in the fridge, i don't even need to go to the store ... have a super day!

Michael: funny guy . . . i know the thermometer works because it moved all the way up to -31C yesterday! so there! :o) ... the woodstove has a nice glow to it ... and i hope you don't notice the logs missing out of your woodpile - you did say i could have some . . . blessings on your day!

i noticed that cnn is running a story about a town in northeastern minnesota that hit -54 today...that's plenty cold! you don't need to live in canada to experience the effects of global warming.

the local news said that we are supposed to warm up to -2C tomorrow . . . ??? that would be wonderful, really check out my thermostat to see if it works ok and can go UP all those degrees as well . . . :o)
