the forgotten document

kids Posted by Hello

how in the world could i forget?

i found the 4 page document while i was searching for Madame Guyon’s poem . . .
i was amazed that i had forgotten it’s existence.

what document is that, you ask?

why this absolutely lovely 4 page declaration of love, that my husband wrote to me for our 25th wedding anniversary!

Leo is no poet, or even a willing letter writer . . . yet as i re-read the sentiments he had penned, i couldn't believe how articulate he was . . .he remembered so many good things about our life together . . . there was such romance in his note, even after 25 years . . .

i’m smiling as i type this . . . that was such a sweet ending to this day . . .

yup, our wedding day, 1974 ... it seems like only yesterday on one hand, and on the other hand it seems like a few lifetimes away ...

even this morning i can't believe how i could forget that note that leo penned? i must have been in a down place during that time - i wanted our 25th anniversary to be a certain way (didn't happen), and i think i was more uptight about Leo's disability at that time ... shame on me - sigh, you should see that lovely note and how wonderful he thought i was (he says he still believes every word he wrote - ding ding ding, correct answer!!)...

i wanted to share the sweet stuff, after sharing the sad stuff ...

has the water in your yard gone down? hope so!! blessings on your day . . .

when husbands annoy us, we should try to remember the sweet things they are capable of as well! :o)

Squish, Squish, Squish ... water in my yard? What water? Ha ha ha ha! It's just at a nice soggy mud level. Thank goodness I have a bit of grass so it's not a big glob of mud. I'm gonna go over to Lowe's today and buy some drain stuff. :) It's sunny here today.

Also, I think God showed you that note to lift your spirits. :)

Hi Saija... Love the picture! You two are so cute. Glad you Steve's words on paper and that they made you smile. Thanks for your nice comment at my blog, too! God bless... Debra

Jeanette . . . do you have rubber boots? i have boys rubber boots that i wear during the spring/fall rains . . . so that i can go walk through some of the soggy areas . . . i like to walk in snow and in rain . . . and yes, i think the Lord showed me Leo's note to pick up my spirits . . . our God does stuff like that for His children - isn't HE cool!

Debra . . . ya, aren't we cute??? i look at that picture and think "YIKES, we were babies!!!" when we got married - not knowing any better, thinking all kinds of romantic dreams about married life . . . and even tho' reality stepped and knocked us around a bit, God also stepped in and helped us keep our vows to each other . . . :o)

I have snow boots that I can wear out there, if I need to. Mostly, I just stand on my patio and stare at the gleaming grass. It should be dry enough that I can go back there and put the rain gutter extensions on. I bought some yard divider, too, so my neighbor's water stays on her side. :)
