wintery scene
here is the weather report . . . it was -35C when i got up and it has now warmed up to -20C, with light snow and winds . . . hmmmmm . . . sounds like a heat wave for Christmas!!
speaking of which, even tho’ Christmas may be hustling and bustling all around us, i was still able to read today . . . if i don’t read a book or two a week, well i get crabby and have terrible withdrawal angst . . . the book in hand at the moment, In the Presence of My Enemies, the Martin and Gracia Burnham story . . . excellent reading . . . makes a suburban type Christian weigh in on some lifestyle issues . . . i’m about half way through ...
i thought i would be reading all evening (while throwing a log in the fire every now and then), but my husband wanted to spend some tv time with me . . . shock shock, i mean this was instead of watching football!!! now guys, that is how you tell your wife you really really love her - by saying "why yes dear, i would much rather watch a mushy romantic movie with you tonight, instead of my grid iron heroes!!"
despite the cold, despite the Christmas anxieties - it was a very good day . . . it almost felt normal . . . and in our world of chronic pain, that is a very good thing indeed . . . thank you Lord.

Hi Saija! Just dropping by to say good morning. I'm glad you had a good day yesterday and too, thanks for you comment(s) at my blog. Have a great Monday and God bless... Debra (P.S. Such nice pictures here, also!)
Wow! I can totally relate to the football thing. I am usually watching my mushy show in one room and my husband and boys in the other cheering on their team! What a special treat that must have been for you, and on a Sunday, the most beloved football day of the week!
Awww ... did you guys snuggle on the couch together? (Trying to get a mental picture ... fireplace, mushy romantic movie playing, munching on peanut brittle, snow outside ... ) :)
J.
Debra: yes, good days are to be appreciated as they come along!
Peg: isn't it nice when they give up football for us!
Jeanette: the fire was going, leo was enjoying the peanut brittle, you had that right ... leo was in his lazy boy and i was snuggled up on the couch, our pepster was on his perch . . . it was such a nice day ... poor ole leo is not feeling well today at all ... but everything passes and i hope he gets feeling well enough to enjoy Christmas celebrations ...
hugs to you all . . . and i would appreciate your prayer for us too . . . thank you! saija
